![]() ![]() Please do not ask, because I won’t do it-for any price. *Update 4/29/15 Thank you so much for checking out this post! It was written almost 4 years ago and I am, absolutely in no way, able to make origami stars for sale. *UPDATE! Since making these stars, more origami videos have been made (or I’ve found more that I didn’t see before)! Yay!!! Here they are for your viewing pleasure: Long ago, there was a little girl called Hoshi. They are so cute and sweet, like little treats. Japanese origami Lucky Stars represent a special gift of love and goog luck. In Southeast Asia, the folding of paper and given as gifts to someone mean you hope him/her have happy and good things come into their lives. I put them all in a little jar and prettied it up. I used 12 x 12 inch scrapbook paper and cut 1/2 x 12″ strips, then followed the video HERE*. I made 60 of them, enough to last me the whole year if I open one a week, plus a few extra just in case. Initially you need to make a pentagon wrapped with many. I thought it would be fun to make a whole bunch with kind words and “you are….” phrases inside. The origami lucky star is a very special model since it requires a long strip instead of a square paper. Origami lucky stars are traditionally given as a token of good luck or best wishes and make the perfect gift for every occasion or just as a thinking of you. ![]() ![]() Don’t worry, it’s good for their fine motor skills and it keeps them off the electronic devices. I remembered this origami star video on You Tube and had to get them involved in my plan. Kids can sometimes sit and fold hundreds of them. Especially when that nasty gremlins try to creep in and stump me. Since the new year has started I’ve been trying to think of ways to be more kind to my self. ![]()
